Our Story

Rooted in Quality & Tradition

For 50 years, Tanguay Jewelers has been one of Northern Massachusetts’ trusted destinations for fine jewelry, custom design, jewelry repair, and watch services.

As a small, family owned neighborhood jeweler, we take pride in offering the kind of personal service customers cant always find at larger stores. Every piece we sell, repair, or create is handled with care, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.

Whether you’re choosing an engagement ring, restoring a family heirloom, designing something one of a kind, or bringing in a watch for repair. We’re here to make the process feel personal, comfortable, and handled with care.

After 5 decades in business, we’re grateful to continue serving generations of customers and helping celebrate life’s most meaningful moments.

A Family Business Now In It’s Next Generation

For 50 years, Tanguay Jewelers has served Northern Massachusetts with trusted jewelry and watch services. In 2025, Seth B. Tanguay purchased the business from his father, Brian P. Tanguay, continuing the family tradition of craftsmanship, quality, and personal service.

Today, Seth leads Tanguay Jewelers as owner and head jeweler, while Brian remains semi-retired and continues to offer his decades of experience as a skilled watchmaker.

Seth Tanguay | Owner & Head Jeweler

Seth grew up in the jewelry industry, learning the craft alongside his father from a young age. After apprenticing in high-school, he went on to study at The North Bennet Street School, where he further developed his skill in jewelry making, repair and fine craftsmanship, graduating in 2007 as a certified jeweler. Since obtaining his certification, Seth worked hard as one of Tanguay’s jewelers. After perfecting his craft for almost 20 years, he is now the owner and head jeweler. Known for his detailed repair work, custom designs, and hand engravings, Seth has become the creative force behind many of Tanguay Jewelers; one-of-a-kind pieces.

Brian P. Tanguay | Certified Watchmaker

Brian began repairing watches at age 18, training at the Joseph Bulova school of watchmaking and becoming certified by the American Watchmakers institute. After years of building his reputation and servicing stores throughout Massachusetts, Brian moved to Fitchburg to merge his growing business with his Grandparents’ business Murphy Jewelers. With Brian’s expertise the business quickly flourished allowing Brian to invest in a new building in Gardner, to further diversify his services. This new venture became Tanguay Jewelers. With Brian’s growing experience, fine craftsmanship, he was able to grow it into a trusted local destination for watch repair, jewelry and personal service you can trust.

Now, semi-retired, Brian continues to lend his expertise as Tanguay Jewelers watchmaker, specializing in repair and vintage timepieces. His decades of experience remain an important part of the stores history, reputation, and continued service to the community.
